For those in the European Union, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) has arrived to protect citizens against privacy and data breaches.
A key impact for those working with identifiable (and potentially pseudo-anonymised) real-world data is that data breaches likely to ‘result in a risk for the rights and freedoms of individuals’ must be reported within 72 hours of becoming aware of that breach.
